Hybrid-Mode

We've all been there and we get it; we've sat through the boring "hybrid" mode classes from home, waiting for the teacher to see our hands and try to keep everyone engaged through several screens- it was not great. We promise METGREEN-22 hybrid mode won't be like that. On this page you can read about our plan to ensure everyone; in person or online remains properly engaged and involved in the discussion at all times!

Virtual-Virtual interactions.

Workshop presenters at the conference will be present both in person as well as via the zoom meetings, depending on their preference and location. Interacting with online presenters through zoom is a direct interaction that does not cross through a different medium and ensures communication that is nearly as smooth as in-person interactions. Furthermore, online presenters will be extremely aware of the participants in the zoom call, seeing as they themselves are in zoom and will therefore ensure even the online participants will be fully involved in the discussion!

Virtual-Presential Interactions.

We have put a lot of thought and care into making sure these interactions are as smooth as possible.

Apart from projecting the Zoom call onto the screen on every workshop, and thereby making sure you are unmissable, we will also make sure that there is an in-person "moderator" in each workshop, who is also connected to the zoom meeting so they can alert the presenter (should they be attending in person) or group that a question or concern has arisen in the Zoom meeting if it was not previously noticed.

Furthermore, we will be using camera tablets in each classroom to ensure online attendees have a full view of the classroom and all physical presentation materials and will feel just like they actually are in the classroom.

Presential-Virtual Interactions.

We will ensure that the presenter, as well as their presentation are projected with good audio at the front of each classroom so you can follow along.

In addition, thanks to a moderator who will be physically present in each workshop as well as being connected to the zoom call, we will ensure that if any questions or concerns arise in the classroom they can be seamlessly communicated to the virtual participants and presenters!

Presential-Presential Interactions

Finally! After two years of COVID-19 the interactions we have all been waiting for. During the conference we will provide plenty of opportunities - not only in-between workshops, but also in dedicated time slots - to interact in-person with presenters and fellow students!

Adapted Schedule

While the essential elements of the conference are the same for all participants, in order to ensure a smooth experience for everyone, we will be adapting some elements of the schedule to be medium-specific. For example, during team-building and ice-breaker exercises we will be holding separate activities for the in-person and virtual attendees to ensure that technical challenges of integrating virtual meetings with an actively moving in-person group does not reduce the quality of the experience for anyone.

Project Groups.

We are currently in the process of working out how to best facilitate communication between in-person and virtual attendees during the enviro-projects. We are ensuring that our recommendations will allow for extremely smooth communication and interaction and while allowing you to work with anyone, will also make sure that all collaborations are technologically feasible.
